Completed a half marathon distance today! For anyone who would like to follow my progress on Strava, my link is https://www.strava.com/athletes/50834015
It's a very solitary thing to do on your own - hard enough at an event! Anyway, I completed the Strava Half Marathon challenge and got back safely. No blisters but the toe on my dodgy foot (another story!) was really painful by the time I got back. Not sure what I'm going to be able to do about that. Hopefully I can get some good advice from someone.
I could feel a blister coming on before I even got to Chavenage which wasn't a good sign! But it didn't seem to get any worse. Starting seriously flagging at about 14K and my toe was really, really hurting at about 16K. Well I suppose it took my mind off of my aching legs! Took a while to recover at home - very cold, felt a bit nauseous, probably because I hadn't eaten enough or drunk enough water. I did take some with me but nutrition for long runs is another thing I need to learn about.
Will rest my poor toe tomorrow and perhaps try my new trainers out on a shorter run on Tuesday.
Many thanks for reading. Sue
